How could the risks to shipping in the North Sea develop between now and 2050, and what role could offshore wind farms play? A new study commissioned by the Directorate-General for Aviation and Maritime Affairs outlines several possible scenarios for the North Sea in 2050. The scenarios provide a realistic picture of how the risks could develop, enabling MOSWOZ to make targeted choices for research and monitoring.
This newsletter also focuses on international knowledge exchange. Several team members recently attended the annual meeting of the North Sea Shipping Group (NSSG) and a workshop on maritime spatial planning in Brussels. This allows us to learn from our international colleagues, and they from us.

MOSWOZ in Brussels: international knowledge exchange on maritime safety in the North Sea
Tuesday 2 June was an informative day for MOSWOZ during European Maritime Spatial Planning Week in Brussels. Several team members attended the annual North Sea Shipping Group (NSSG) meeting and a workshop on maritime spatial planning in the North Sea. Experts from different countries met in person to exchange valuable knowledge and experience.
